For the first time, the work of Dr. Tomatis is available in a small portable device. The Solisten® Program is now more accessible for professionals through a 25-hour/3 day thorough training course and a small, easy-to-use, portable device with headphones.
The new Solisten is the portable and educational application of Tomatis sound training programs that are designed from specific functions of the Tomatis® Method and the Electronic Ear. These programs provide the Tomatis® Effect which includes in the programs the unique Tomatis gating, delay and precession, proprietary chosen music with some filtered levels, and the Tomatis established bone and air conductions.

The Equipment
The equipment is state of the art digital equipment proprietarily engineered with fine music quality and design to provide consistent and high level performance for your clients. The headphone provides bone and air conduction to produce the Tomatis Effect.
Alfred Tomatis developed the Electronic Ear that accredited Tomatis Centers and Consultants (tomatisassociation.org) alone may use. It is the proprietary device invented over 50 years ago and then updated and perfected with ongoing research and development at Tomatis Developpement SA (TDSA). Solisten includes the “gating system,” advanced frequency filters, delay controls, and professional grade headphones that use both air and bone conduction. The resulting programs affect listening attentiveness, auditory laterality, the localization of sound in space, latency time, sound discrimination, memory, and, the audio-vocal connection.
The programming and music are housed within the device allowing the trained Solisten provider to control the program choices for a client. It is easy to use by the client. They need only punch a button to run the program.
The Training Course
For 25 hours/3 days individuals will be taught the scientific basis of Dr. Tomatis’ work; introduced to the new equipment and programming, and shown how to use it. It is an intense course curriculum that covers the vital aspects of the ear’s early and on-going development related to human function. We’ll show how the ear is an integral part of the body through its integration with the brain, the nervous system, the muscles and the vestibular system.
After this initial training course, you are certified to offer the Solisten Program. We encourage you to continue your training through monthly mentoring hours with Registered and Certified Tomatis Consultants. A certain number of hours are included in your training course fee and lead you towards the second and third levels of certification. These additional levels will be presented and discussed during the Training Course.
In addition, you may request individual hourly consultations with our Training Faculty at a per hour fee if you desire additional individual assistance when assessing clients.
Training Courses will be held throughout the United States and may be from Thursday to Sunday or Sunday to Tuesday.
International Association of Registered Certified Tomatis Consultants™
As a Solisten Qualified Licensee, you become part of an established international, professional community of Tomatis and Solisten sound training practitioners which began over 50 years ago when Dr. Tomatis started his work.
You are invited to become an Associate of the International Association of Registered Certified Tomatis Consultants (tomatisassociation.org) which connects you to the extensive international Tomatis knowledge base of sound training experience, research and development and we hope you will become active in our community’s work.
Necessary Assessment
As a professional, you understand the need to know your client’s situation, particularly if there are diagnoses or concerns that parents, other service providers, or teachers have for a client. You will train with both an intake questionnaire and an exit questionnaire to gather necessary information for monitoring your client’s progress. The information you gather will inform you about the programming you will offer to your client.
During the Training Course these questionnaires and answers will be discussed and taught with its relationship to the programs. You will leave the Training Course with a clear understanding of how to assess your clients and provide them with the right program for their needs.
Research Component
With Solisten, we have instituted a research program for data compilation. All Solisten Qualified Licensees are invited and urged to participate in this program. We have carefully chosen an extensive pre/post set of test and screening materials we share with those at the Training Course. All research submitted becomes part of this program which is confidential and collected by anonymous numbers.
The License
The annual license provides you with unique and exciting benefits that include:

The Warranty
The Solisten device and headphone carry a one-year limited warranty. We are pleased to offer a one-year extended warranty as an option.
On-Going Education and Mentoring
As part of the Solisten Training Course you are also invited to participate in an on-going mentoring program. This on-going education is available to help you better understand your work and advance your knowledge of sound training while establishing a community of interactive colleagues.
There are two additional levels of Solisten training available as steps toward becoming a full Tomatis Consultant.
The Full Package
Our full package includes one device and one headphone, one training course, a license, and an optional warranty. To sign up for the package, you must qualify to be trained.
